„Goosebumps stories“ is the motto of this year's Munich Paper Theatre Festival, which is taking place for the eighth time this year in Bürgerpark Oberföhring. The focus is on plays that touch the audience. Five paper theatre stages from all over Germany focus on goosebumps, from happiness to horror.
Papirniks Papiertheater, Essen
Hans-Günter Papirnik once again stages Friedrich von Flotow's "crime" opera "Alessandro Stradella" for young opera lovers and adults with his usual attention to detail. The play was first performed at the Hamburg City Theatre in 1844 and was adapted and carefully shortened by Papirnik's paper theatre.
Papiertheater am Ring, Wilhermsdorf
Sabine and Armin Ruf tell the well-known Grimm Brothers' fairy tale "Tischlein deck dich" to children in their own way with partially hand-coloured reprints of the original 19th century Schreiber backdrops. For young people and adults, they rework the fairy tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, "Pied Piper reloaded", with magical backdrops and incredible rats.
Papiertheater Heringsdorf, Mecklenburg -Vorpommern
The Heringsdorf Paper Theatre often chooses its plays from the field of Danish paper theatre, such as Hans Christian Andersen's "Chinese Nightingale" for children aged 6 and over. They also present the paper theatre version of Agathe Christie's famous play "The Mousetrap" for young people and adults.
Theater andersArtig, Warendorf
Papiertheater Hellriegels Junior, Kiel
The Hellriegels Junior family theatre from Kiel has been staging stories on the paper theatre stage for three generations. For the youngest members of the audience, they bring their version of the Grimm fairy tale "Von einem der auszog das Gruseln zu lernen", while for the older children and adults, they delve deep into the bowels of the earth and experience incredible adventures on the "Journey into the Center of the Earth" (based on Jules Vernes).
