The young dressmaker can do quite a lot and doesn't let anyone talk her into it. She sews sophisticated dresses, can dance, do a backflip and loves jam, especially plum jam, apricot jam and apple jam. But not just her - also the flies that buzz around her workshop. But because the dressmaker doesn't want any flies sitting on her bread, she catches seven in one go. They beg for their lives and the dressmaker sends them to freedom. Delighted with her success, the dressmaker decides that the whole world should know about it. Anyone who swats away seven flies can do anything! Bye-bye, workshop, and off into the world: she confuses the giant couple Helga and Fridolin, defeats a wild boar that tramples fields and meadows and plays hide-and-seek with the unicorn. The king, who only has his new massage cushion in mind, promises her half the kingdom. Meanwhile, his son, who would much rather be a musician, is waiting for the bus - and meets the dressmaker at the bus stop. It's not far to Sicily!
Julia Giesbert and Peter Lutz studied contemporary puppetry at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. Both have since worked as freelance puppeteers at municipal theatres or in independent productions. In addition to acting, Peter Lutz has also specialised in the professional construction of puppets. As Giesbert&Lutz, they devise their productions together with Philipp Jescheck, who studied theatre studies at the LMU Munich, was in-house director at the Volkstheater Munich for many years and now works as a freelance director. In their work, they value their mutual openness in the creative working process and their enjoyment of theatre for young audiences. They hatch the best ideas over coffee while philosophising about God and the world.
Verena Richter composed and wrote the music and lyrics. She studied saxophone in Munich and Italy. She also performs herself with various programmes. She also writes for the theatre: her first children's play ‘Der König, der alles hatte’ premiered in May 2024 at the Nextliberty theatre in Graz.
