I write on a blank document. You read. The gentle rhythm of my typing connects us. One letter follows the next as I sail across the internet, searching deep in my memory for forgotten stories, lost voices and inventions.

In his silent solo performance, Ari Teperberg amusingly and touchingly weaves a complicated web of relationships between voice, identity and technology. The starting point was research into the invention of the telephone, observations on its development history and fundamental reflections on the relationship between man and machine - as a way of overcoming distances. The audience looks into Ari Teperberg's world of thought as it manifests itself as text. Sometimes things get lost, scraps of memory pop up, images and voices condense into stories that the audience in turn continue to shape.

The multidisciplinary theatre and opera director and performer Ari graduated from the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem and was awarded the Jerusalem Foundation Prize in 2011 during his studies. In 2022 he received the prestigious Rosenblum Prize. His plays are performed worldwide. In the field of music theatre, he has directed ‘Shalem’, a concert for an orchestra of 110 musicians playing broken instruments; ‘Peter and the Wolf’, ‘Cosi fan tutte’, ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and ‘Giulio Cesare’, among others. In 2019, Teperberg won the audience prize at the ‘Nano Opera’ competition for young opera directors in Moscow. As a performer, he has worked with Yonatan Levy, Sharon Zuckerman-Weiser and Ana Wild, among others, and has danced with the Yasmeen Godder Dance Company since 2015. He has taught at Tel Aviv University, Haifa University and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and gives workshops in various institutions around the world, teaching his working method, which he calls ‘performative mechanisms’.
